Looper

Yesterday I went to the movies and saw the movie Looper, which as 4-5 stars on every site it seems. The movie didn't deliver and had a lot of potential but it turned out to be just okay. I'm writing about this because for anyone who has seen this movie or is going to see it, I want to know if anyone else noticed the huge error in Looper that none of my friends noticed. Maybe I was just hearing things but when Emily Blunts character first appears she is accidentally called Emily, rather that by her character name "Sarah". All I could think about for the next 15 minutes after it happened was...did that just happen? Did they really not edit that out? o_O

The movie was a good watch but not worth the in theatre prices sadly. I like all the actors in it but the ending was just so lame that the entire theatre went quiet, sat there thinking "Is that ...all?" then got up and walked away in silence after having wasting 2.5 hours or so.

Cheap Wedding dresses online

I'm doing a little research online for a dress at a good price, like most do before their wedding. I don't want to spend a lot of money because I'm not going to wear it everyday of my life. So I started to look to order a dress online. I'm currently living in Australia but I am from America originally and I really don't want to pay the prices here especially for the dress. Hopefully Ill find good sites with decent reviews where the dresses are already within Australia or America that are at good rates. Most the sites I have looked at have mixed reviews and all the dresses are straight from China. Chances are that if you find a cheap dress within USA or AU, even if its from China, the quality will be better because they need to not only be able to sell it but might be able to fix if anything is wrong and up the price by the amount you would pay to just get it tailored anyways. I really am hoping this will help someone out there who is bargin hunting for wedding dresses/formal wear under $1000. My goal is actually to stay under $600 so it will be a challenge. Keep in mind that when reading reviews to always consider these few thoughts:

1. People who typically write reviews do it because they are mad or something went wrong. People happy with their purchases online do not typically bother to ramble about it because they are happy with what they received and don't need to say a thing
2. Keep in mind some sites will up their scores by voting themselves higher stars. The best thing you could do is compare pictures from people who have already received dresses.
3. Read what people who gave 3-4 star reviews have said. These usually indicate that when they realized something was wrong or had a question they were either helped, problem was fixed, or had a good customer service experience. This can mean a thousand words when trusting an online company.

I read other blogs and although lots of women got their dresses without problems some had horrible experiences and kind of frightened me out of buying straight from China. Ill try to find some links and post. =)

Christmas is coming

When I want something to look a certain way I'm not happy unless I can see it through. Yesterday I did a small flower arrangement in the house and although it wasn't incredibly cheap it ended up looking nice! This is really the first time I have done something like this since high school and I want to know if it looks good to others and what I can change. I find decorating and these kinds of things to be really fun so I think I will start doing it more often.

I also seem to have burnt eggs while hard boiling them. I completely forgot they were on the stove and time flew by. Before I knew it they had been cooking for an hour and were popping out of the shell's sides. I must say I that I did not think it was possible to physically burn hard boiled eggs but I was very wrong.

Something to speak of

i guess my blog should really have a theme here and I'm not entirely sure what of. I need to get more hobbies but I guess I could make this sort of a video game blog or maybe make this a personal one and make another one for video games.

On another note, I recently made two new dishes to add to me "I have cooked this" list. I'm also working on a job resume...yay...

Recipes
Artichoke Spinach Dip:
I made this and think this specific recipe had way too much cream cheese for my taste. I like cream cheese but it was very overpowering.

Ice Cream Cake:
At first seemed SUPER sugar infested but actually was quite good when all put together!
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Homemade Whipped Cake
  • Warm Raspberry, strawberry puree Sauce
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Powdered Sugar

Opening Post

I used to blog daily when I was in high school, but it seems over the past few years I have been out of touch with the interesting things in my life. Becoming an adult and growing out of teenage behavior has made me feel a bit boring at times and I feel I haven't had much to write about. When I really think about what has happened over the past five years more things have occured than I have given credit to. I'm 23 years old and I finally feel like my life is taking off into something better. New relationship, old friendships, an adopted slightly over weight cat, and new lifetime goals beginning to complete my everyday life.

So to bring this post up to date with anyone who may read this (though I may be just posting this for myself), get ready for a small list of recent(ish) life events... Key words colored for your convenience.

I was dating my best friend Dos for about 2 years
He had a cat named Willow (The worlds coolest cat! She has the most amazing personality!)====>
We broke up a little more than a year ago
We remain friends today but I took his cat... he didn't want her anymore =(
I met a guy I really liked about a year ago and two weeks ago he asked me out on a date! (there is a lot to this story so hold on to your seat.)

About Ben:
I met Ben last August and at first we just spoke to each other on a daily basis as if we were just friends. After a few months we definitely started to like each other. I'm from California and he is from Australia so you can see where this becomes a bit of a problem for us. About 2 weeks ago I went to Australia for a week and right as I got off my 22 hour travel he was standing there with a flower and asked me on a date! Obviously I said "YES!" and we proceeded to have one of the best weeks of our lives thus far. We've spoken every day for over a year now and he is now working on moving here to California for a year to be with me. After the year is up I will be moving to Australia permanently, I hope. Originally I was going to apply for a Visa and move there but I think he will love the experience of American Holidays and the culture change.

Australian words learned:
  • Fair Dinkum (Fair or True)
  • Mate (A friend!)
  • Cheers (Similar to thanks or goodbye, used every time you walk away from someone.)
  • Rubbish (instead of garbage in the garbage can its Rubblish in the bin, which goes in the tin, which then goes to the garbage bin???????)
  • Beach Root (weird fruit that makes everything taste like plant, supposedly healthy.)

A little something about myself to close out my first official post here.
I LOVE taking photos and making Icons for journals and forums even if I'm not fantastic at it!
I'm a super picky eater and I seem to like cooking and baking more food than I will actual feast on.
Call me a chicken but...wait yes...thats what I am! I'm scared of everything, a complete scaredy cat. I think my cat is more brave than I am and she is scared of the wind which doesn't leave a whole lot of hope for me now does it.
